A coastal translation of modern luxury, perched where the refined suburbs of Rye meet the expansive horizon of the Sound.  This home stood as a new build when the homeowners sought our design inspiration. We inherited an empty shell with a backdrop of white oak and white walls and fine fixtures. Our mandate was to make the spec home feel like a cozy home for this blended family. We were intentional with respect to upgrades to plumbing and lighting fixtures in an effort to preserve budget for the “fun stuff.” We introduced wallpapers and daring colors where we sought impact. We integrated the owner’s existing art collection and made space to embrace their love of rock and roll as a design theme. This project was a successful curation of inherited materials and finishes with the addition of carefully selected forms and finishes.
